We saw some of our deer friends.
One part of the floor that Don was unable to uncover was the living room wall which he built last fall.  A lot of water collected in the window frame.  Don had to clear that out before he could take the black plastic off.
Don also build shelves for the root cellar.

Bir'd have started coming to Barbara's bird feeders.  We have seen a lot of what looks like Baltimore Oriels but they aren't supposed to be this far west.

Barbara set up our outdoor hand washing station.

Don got both walls up that he built last fall.  He installed a flag on the home.  These walls are on the west side of the house and will be the living room walls.

There is a struggling lilac bush on the east side of our property.  It has one lone blossom which you can't see well in the picture.  Judging by the large, successful lilac bushes we see around the community, we have learned that the deer don't eat them.  Also rabbits and moles which destroy much that is planted leave them alone.  We have also been told that deer will not eat irises or daffodils.  I don't know about  the other pests.

Our neighbor who is just north of us is building/remolding an old home.  He is is putting in a large basement room.  Today he had a mud pumper and three cement trucks out to build the walls.  The walls were built by Styrofoam Lego-like blocks.

Don built and stood up the last west wall.  This wall will go out onto our porch with a sliding glass door.

It was cold and rainy and Don did not feel well so no work was done on the house.

After church, we drove back into South Jordan where Barbara was feted by a delicious meal prepared by our son and sons-in-law.  Barbara also enjoyed phone calls from out of state children and received cards, metal yard decorations, chocolate covered strawberries, personalized dish towels with grandkids' hand prints and pictures, and a book from various children.  It was a great Mother's Day.
