Another delivery from Home Depot. This guy was so confused about how to find us. It took several phone calls to straighten him out and then, when he got here, he said he had been here before. Duh!
Don worked on stacking our wood pile while our carpenters worked upstairs.
Don and the lady carpenter are putting the wood from Home Depot upstairs.
Some of the wood from Home Depot was split or twisted so we took it back and got what we needed as well as a tub surround.
The Lady Carpenter showing all of the wood cut for the trusses.

Cleaning up the floor to get ready to make the trusses.
Laying the wood out in the jig.
Some of the supports had to be adjusted.
It was a jigsaw puzzle. Don is positioning his stabilizing square.
He puts glue down where the square will go.
Then he nails it.
Process is repeated with smaller squares on all of the joints.
Both working together, it goes pretty fast.
Doing a hammer over of the nails shot in by the nail gun.
Lifting the truss from the jig.
The truss is flipped over and the process repeated on the other side with the wood squares, glue, and nails.
The truss is finished and moved out of the way.
This will be the end truss. It has straight joints instead of the w shaped.
Another regular truss finished
Putting up the end truss.
Don's lifting the middle while the carpenters stabilize the ends.
Don is not tall enough to lift the middle so he trades with the man carpenter.
And it is up.
Now you can see the roof line.
Barbara and Don went to Provo to get more nails. Assembling trusses requires a lot of nails.

First thing this morning, the lady carpenter said they needed more glue. Don made a run to the Payson dump because the Eureka dump will not take construction debri. He also picked up more glue at the hardware store in Santaquin. The lady carpenter teaches math at a charter school on Tuesdays and Thursdays so it is a short day for her. The man carpenter didn't feel like he had work to do without either Don or the lady carpenter here so it was a short work day. Still 11 out of 24 trusses are up.

The man carpenter woke up with his back hurting and did not come. Don and the lady carpenter built the rest of the trusses but Don is not tall enough to put them up.
The jig has been taken up and the remaining trusses awaiting installation.
We were sitting where our dining room table will be and this deer came right outside the window. You can see the deer are a bit hungry--look at the ribs.
The deer can hear us talk but is not startled by that--only by movement.
Gorgeous sunset out of our west window. Love having our orientation to seeing the weather around us.

We had a Chile Fiesta to share a bit of the culture and food from Chile with family and friends.
These tags identify the different kinds of empanadas.
Here you also see a Chilean salad--peeled tomatoes with defanged onion. The onion has been soaked in salt water and rinsed to take the bite out.
Alfajores are a traditional Chilean dessert made with a chocolate wafer sandwich filled with dulce de leche (carmelized milk), and dipped in melted chocolate. These were edible but not right. It is a learning curve. [Actually, they were quite good, despite not being able to get the right cookies.--Don]
Display of our Chilean souvenirs.
The small, inverted test tube in the left center contains a sculpture of a hummingbird drinking from a flower, carved from an ordinary kitchen match. Here is an enloared picture of it.
Some of the guests arriving.
We introduced them to the traditional Chilean dance, the cueca, [pronounced quayka].
Don has on spurs and the manta typlical of doing this dance.
Even our two year old enjoyed waving the handkerchief.
